Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious leader who is passionate about customer service delivery, to join BNZ in a meaningful regional leadership role.

You’ll be based across our Rotorua & Taupō branches, empowering a dynamic team of full-service Bankers to embody BNZ’s values. You’ll proactively build connections and relationships within the local community driving new business for both consumer and small business customers.

What does a day in the life of an Area Branch Manager look like?

• Drive the overall performance of your branch through coaching and mentoring, leadership, and direction.
• Ensuring meaningful, consistent, and engaging customer experience to every BZN customer.
• Lead collaboration between the Branch/Partner/Private network to ensure a co-ordinated approach to market opportunities in the region and wider Retail Network.
• Working in consultation with the Head of Branch/Region, to develop and implement annual business plans which facilitate the achievement of the team, financial and business targets.

What attributes will this person have in order to be successful?

We are looking for a proactive self-starter with excellent communication skills, who can challenge the status quo to improve the effectiveness and the efficiency of the team. You will bring:

• In depth knowledge of financial products and services, along with strong technical capability and understanding of Banking systems.
• Leadership experience, previous success developing, coaching and managing staff performance.
• A proven track record of communicating and delivering great customer outcomes, to role model behaviours to your Team.
• Ability to effectively address challenging situations through strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proven experience holding accountability for risk and compliance.

What is the team culture and environment like?

You will be leading a great team of Bankers across our Rotorua & Taupō branches - this is a diverse role with a team of new faces and BNZ veterans. The most exciting thing is being able to lead and motivate a team, developing them professionally to achieve success and serve our customers brilliantly. You’ll make a real impact through your leadership, providing insights and a unique perspective on the outlook, as well as guiding and assisting the team navigate through any challenges. This role also offers you the opportunity to engage with a broad range of stakeholders across BNZ, becoming a trusted senior member of our Retail Team in the region.
