This is a hands-on role based at Oban Wharf where no two days are the same. You will be at the heart of our ferry operations, managing vessel interactions, keeping a close eye on manifests, coordinating departures, and ensuring everything runs smoothly as ferries come and go from the island.
You will be multi skilled, easily transitioning from wharf duties and logistics to engaging with guests, informing and assisting them with their itineraries, building genuine relationships, and inspiring them with the very best experiences Rakiura has to offer. Selling activities and excursions is part of what you do, but it is your warmth, local knowledge, and proactive nature that will set you apart. You are entertaining and likable, genuine and real, with the ability to anticipate guests' needs before they even ask.
This is Permanent role based in Oban with full time hours in Summer and part time hours over Winter.
We Are Looking For Someone Who Has
- Experience in customer service, with confidence in a sales environment
- Outstanding people and communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work across varied areas and adapt quickly
- A forklift licence would be an advantage
