What's so exciting about this role?
This is an important role in our Collections team where you will build relationships with our customers, while providing quality resolution of disputed accounts in a soft manner. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) and will work on a rostered basis within our operating hours (8:30am - 8:30pm Monday to Friday). You'll receive thorough training on our products and systems, so you'll be set up for success from day one. Plus, we offer a hybrid working model - three days in the office and two from home, giving you the flexibility to balance work and life. This is a great opportunity to take your customer service experience to the next level while working in our Collections team for our New Zealand and Australian credit card products.
What Does An Average Day Look Like?
No day is average at humm but here's an idea of what you can expect to do in this role:
- Build and maintain strong relationships both inbound and outbound with our customers;
- Successfully provide quality resolution of disputed accounts;
- Absorb and act on advice and direction from the Collections Management Team;
- Undertake tasks as directed by the Collections Management Team;
- Establish "win win" strategies through effective negotiation techniques

We're also looking for someone who brings:
- Experience dealing with customers over the phone, with an articulate and confident phone manner
- Highly developed decision making, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Solid computer skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and thrive in a KPI driven environment
- Ability to be proactive and take initiative when workload varies during peaks and troughs
- Ability to foster a collaborative team environment
- Understanding of collections and complaints handling would be advantageous
