At Tonkin + Taylor, learning plays a critical role in enabling our people to deliver meaningful outcomes for Aotearoa and Australia. We’re looking for a Learning + Development Advisor who brings curiosity, strong learning design capability, and confidence working with systems, data, and stakeholders across a complex consulting environment.
Mō te tūranga / The opportunity
- Support stakeholders to identify capability needs and translate them into clear, practical learning solutions
- Design learning solutions that go beyond formal training, enabling learning through experience, collaboration, and targeted development
- Develop high-quality learning content, including e-learning, instructor-led sessions, and on-the-job resources
- Leverage our Learning Management System (GROW/Docebo) to enhance learner experiences, ensure high‑quality learning journeys, and maximise the value of learning data and content.
- Partner with internal SMEs and facilitators to build learning capability and consistency
- Measure learning effectiveness and use insights to drive continuous improvement
- Support efficient L&D processes, documentation, and reporting across the business

You’ll be part of our collaborative People & Capability team, working alongside experienced practitioners in a consulting environment that continually evolves. This role offers strong exposure to enterprise-wide initiatives, learning systems, and stakeholder partnerships, with real opportunity to shape how learning is designed and experienced across the organisation.

Your friendly, adaptable, and solutions-focused, with a genuine interest in helping people learn and grow. You enjoy working collaboratively, are comfortable navigating change, and bring both structure and creativity to your work.
- 3+ years’ experience in learning design, L+D, or HR advisory roles
- Proven experience designing and delivering blended, in the flow learning solutions
- Strong instructional design skills across digital and face-to-face formats
- Confidence working with learning systems and technology (LMS, MS tools, e-learning authoring software)
- A systems mindset with the ability to understand how processes and platforms interrelate
- Solid project management and prioritisation skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship skills
- Initiative, curiosity, and a continuous improvement mindset
