We’re looking for a highly driven, strategic, and people focused Event Director to lead the delivery of conferences, exhibitions, corporate events, and large scale experiences across New Zealand and beyond. This is a senior leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast paced environment, loves leading high performing teams, and knows how to turn big ideas into flawlessly executed events.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading and mentoring a small but talented team of Event Managers/co ordinators
- Driving event strategy, creativity, and operational excellence
- Managing key client relationships and high profile accounts
- Overseeing multiple events from concept through to delivery
- Collaborating closely with senior leadership on budgets, growth, and business direction
- Ensuring every event is delivered on time, on budget, and beyond expectations
What We’re Looking For
You’re a confident leader with serious event expertise and a calm head under pressure. You know how to inspire teams, build trusted relationships, and juggle multiple moving parts without missing a beat.
You’ll Ideally Bring
- 8+ years’ experience in event management
- Proven leadership experience managing teams
- Strong commercial and budgeting capability
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- A passion for creating unforgettable event experiences
- The ability to think strategically while still rolling up your sleeves when needed
