We are seeking an experienced Contractor – Industry Trainer (Security) to deliver engaging, practical weekend workshops for learners completing the Level 3 Certificate of Achievement (COA) in Security. Based at our Wiri campus, you’ll use your industry expertise to create safe, supportive and industry-relevant learning experiences that prepare learners for real-world security roles.

Key responsibilities

  • Facilitate in-person 2 day practical workshops each month - Security Conflict Management
  • Deliver the Level 3 Security COA programme to a high standard
  • Support learner engagement, wellbeing and progression throughout the programme
  • Provide practical instruction, guidance and structured feedback to learners
  • Assess and mark learner assessments in line with programme requirements
  • Maintain accurate learner records, assessment documentation and reporting
  • Monitor learner attendance, engagement and achievement outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with assessment, moderation and quality assurance standards
  • Create a positive, safe and inclusive workshop environment

Desired Skills And Experience

What skills and experience we are looking for

  • Current or previous experience working within the security industry
  • Strong practical understanding of security operations and procedures
  • Experience in training, facilitation, adult education or coaching environments
  • Unit Standard 4098 (Assessment of Learners) or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to engage and support learners from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Availability to deliver weekend workshops at our Wiri campus
  • Understanding of learner engagement, progress tracking and vocational education environments
