Design Coordinator

We’re on the hunt for a highly organised, detail-loving Design Coordinator to join our team and help turn great ideas into well-executed construction projects.

In this role, you’ll be the glue that keeps the design process together—from early concepts right through to consent. You’ll work closely with consultants and internal teams, making sure everything lines up, makes sense, and gets delivered on time (with minimal headaches).

What you’ll be doing

• Coordinating design consultants and keeping documentation across architectural, structural, mechanical (and everything in between) running smoothly

• Supporting and reviewing design changes and submissions for client and council approval.

• Managing RFIs, documentation, and communication through Procore.

• Assisting with planning and consent processes (resource consent, erosion control, TMP)

• Conducting quality checks and making sure designs meet NZ Building Code requirements

• Supporting procurement planning and project handover so nothing gets lost in translation

What you’ll bring

• Experience in construction, architecture, or engineering, with design coordination or project management skills

• Solid knowledge of the NZ Building Code and Health & Safety requirements

• Top-notch organisational skills and an eye for detail that spots what others miss

• Strong communication skills—you can keep everyone on the same page and the same timeline

• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset—you don’t just find problems, you fix them
