Marine Technical Advisor to help keep our marine fleet safe, reliable, and performing at its best - supporting extraordinary experiences in some of Aotearoa’s most iconic places.

You’ll provide trusted technical advice across vessel maintenance, asset lifecycle planning, and reliability, while helping to strengthen how we plan, deliver, and continuously improve our marine maintenance.

Working closely with our Marine leaders, you’ll support complex repairs, planned maintenance, vessel audits, and the ongoing improvement of our CMMS (Maximo). You’ll also play a key role in asset optimisation and marine projects - ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.

This is a unique opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a purpose‑driven organisation where engineering excellence supports safety, conservation, and unforgettable guest experiences.

  • Highly organised, proactive, and able to work independently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with engineering consultants and contractors

Bonus points if you have

  • Experience working to marine classification society standards (e.g. ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s Register)
  • Experience with CMMS optimisation (Maximo preferred)
  • Knowledge of reliability‑centred maintenance practices
  • Experience with reliability engineering techniques (FMECA, RCM, MTBF, failure investigations)
  • Ability to interpret technical data and maintenance history to support decision‑making
  • Experience facilitating root cause analysis or cross‑functional problem‑solving sessions

What You'll Get From This

  • A permanent, full‑time role with guaranteed hours working across some of Aotearoa’s most incredible marine environments
  • Competetive staff benefits, including discounted RealNZ experiences - from Milford and Doubtful Sound cruises to the Te Anau Glowworm Caves and white‑water rafting!
  • Medical insurance
  • Free Cardrona x Treble Cone ski pass
  • Be part of a purpose‑driven organisation that connects people with conservation through tourism
