Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services (www.protecnium.com/en). We are currently looking for Temporary Works Coordinator to join our team for a Major Transport Infrastructure Construction Project in Auckland, New Zealand.

-Location: Auckland, New Zealand (100% On-site).

-Estimated Duration: 3 months- In general, when the project ends, we try to relocate the employee to other projects to ensure continuity.

-Summary: responsible for managing and implementing the TemporaryWorks (TW) process for the Project, administering the Temporary Works Management Plan (TWMP) throughout the project lifecycle.

-Responsibilities

  • Administer and coordinate the Temporary Works process in accordance with the TWMP.
  • Ensure design briefs prepared by the Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS) are complete and contributed to by relevant parties.
  • Determine Risk-Check Categories using sound engineering judgement.
  • Appoint competent Designers appropriate to the complexity of the works and coordinate design development with the TWS.
  • Ensure temporary works designs, including standard solutions, are adequately detailed, checked, certified, and suitable for construction.
  • Manage interfaces between temporary and permanent works, including construction and demolition sequencing, ensuring structural stability is approved by the Alliance design team.
  • Ensure all design, check certificates, comments, IFC documentation, QA records, permits, inspections, maintenance, and RFIs are completed and managed correctly.
  • Review and approve permits to load and verify as-built works comply with IFC design requirements.
  • Maintain communication with Designers, TWS, TWR, and stakeholders to support programme delivery and compliance.
  • Define delegation limits for TWS personnel and review subcontractor temporary works before approval.
  • Maintain access to all temporary works information and documentation.
  • Ensure temporary works are approved, coordinated with permanent works, compliant, and fit for purpose before site implementation.
  • Meet programme requirements by managing process timeframes and mitigating delays.
  • Maintain complete and accessible temporary works documentation on CX.
  • Manage budgets, costs, quality processes, permits, and package closeout within the area of responsibility.
  • Support stakeholder relationships, Alliance reputation, sustainability objectives, and safe work practices.
  • Support HS&E procedures, attend safety meetings, and promote Alliance values and behaviours.

-Requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Temporary Works Coordinator in highways/roadways/ linear works/ heavy civil construction projects or similar.
  • Knowledge of the Temporary Works Forum (NZ) Temporary Works Procedural Control Good Practice Guideline (GPG).
  • Strong engineering judgement and recent site-based engineering experience.
  • Understanding of temporary works risks and procedures.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organisational, and time management skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel.
  • Close attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Collaboration and stakeholder management.
  • Customer focus and problem-solving capability.
  • Ability to manage complexity and adapt to changing demands.
  • Initiative, flexibility, and a proactive approach.
  • Understanding of industry practices and Alliance objectives.

-Working Hours: Monday to Friday- 40 hours weekly-
