We're now looking for an Advice Compliance Specialist to join our Distribution team on a permanent basis supporting the quality, consistency, and integrity of the advice we provide across life, investment and general insurance. This role can be based in our Wellington or Auckland office.

What Your Day Might Look Like

This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with advisers and leaders to ensure high-quality, compliant, and customer-focused advice.

Your Day-to-day Will Include

  • Reviewing adviser files and providing clear, practical feedback
  • Assessing advice against regulatory requirements and MAS standards
  • Identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to improve advice quality
  • Supporting the ongoing development of advice frameworks, templates, and guidance
  • Translating regulatory requirements into practical, easy-to-follow advice standards
  • Partnering with advisers and leaders as a trusted compliance expert
  • Supporting remediation activity where needed
  • Contributing to reporting and insights for leadership and risk forums
  • Helping uplift adviser capability through coaching and targeted support

What We're Looking For

  • We're looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a practical, relationship-focused approach.
  • You'll likely have:
  • Experience in advice compliance, quality assurance, or governance within financial services
  • A solid understanding of New Zealand's financial advice regulatory environment (FMCA / FAP licence obligations)
  • Experience reviewing advice files or monitoring compliance frameworks
  • The ability to interpret regulation and apply it pragmatically in a business context
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and confidence making decisions
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust with stakeholders
  • A genuine focus on delivering good customer outcomes
  • Ideally, you'll also hold (or be working towards) a Level 5 Financial Services qualification.
