About The Role

Ventia is seeking an experienced Operations & Maintenance Manager to lead the planning and delivery of the Auckland Transport West Roading Maintenance Contract. This role has a strong focus on forward planning and programming, leading a team of engineers and planners to translate job inputs into structured annual, quarterly, and monthly work programmes that drive efficient field delivery. Working closely with the Contract Manager, you will ensure work is prioritised, budgets are effectively programmed, and projects are delivered on time while strengthening administrative discipline and transactional processes. You will also play a key role in building strong client relationships and supporting consistent, high-quality operational outcomes.

About You

You are a highly organised and administratively diligent operations leader with strong experience in roading maintenance or similar infrastructure environments. You bring a balance of planning discipline, operational delivery expertise, and client-facing capability.

You Will Also Demonstrate

  • Solid experience in project or operations management within roading or infrastructure
  • Strong background in maintenance planning, pavement and cyclic maintenance activities
  • Ability to interpret plans, programmes, and contracts with a high level of accuracy
  • Proven leadership capability across planners, engineers, and operational teams
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong organisational skills
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and programme delivery
  • Confidence working with clients and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes
  • Intermediate MS Office skills and strong written/verbal communication
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications are advantageous, along with a Class 1 NZ Driver Licence (Class 2+ beneficial).
