Job Title: Carpenter and Joiner

Key Responsibilities:

• Fabricate windows, doors, staircases, cabinets, shop counters, and display units from raw timber in a workshop environment
• Interpret drawings and specifications to determine material requirements, dimensions, and installation methods
• Source and select appropriate timber and other materials, and prepare work layouts
• Cut, measure, shape, and fit timber parts with precision to form finished structures and fittings
• Build and install structural elements and fixtures using timber, plywood, and wallboard materials
• Erect structural frameworks and roof trusses, lay sub-flooring and finished floorboards, and ensure all structures are true and level
• Install fascia panels, roof sheathing, exterior wall cladding, and door/window frames
• Assemble prefabricated timber parts into complete structures or fittings ready for installation
• Construct concrete formwork where needed
• Repair or replace existing timber fittings and fixtures as required
• Work with a range of materials including plastic laminates, perspex, and metals when applicable

Pay rate: $26.00-$33.00/hour

Guaranteed hours of work per week: Minimum 30 hours, permanent, full-time

Requirements for the job:

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience, OR
• at least a relevant level 4 qualification or above, can be equivalent overseas qualification
• Be physically fit and healthy
• Full time availability
• No criminal record
• Candidates need to be NZ citizen/resident
