About the opportunities

As part of the strategic growth of our Three Waters Capability, we’re looking for experienced engineers to join our Three Waters team, with a strong focus on stormwater design and delivery. These are new roles to support a growing pipeline of work, and we're open to appointing either a Senior/Associate Engineer or a more senior technical leader, depending on experience and capability.

Based primarily in Auckland, Hamilton or Tauranga, these roles offer the opportunity to work on complex, high impact water infrastructure projects across public and private sectors, while helping shape the technical direction and capability of our wider team.

Senior/Associate Engineer

As a Senior/Associate, you’ll take a lead role in the design, planning, and delivery of stormwater projects, working closely with clients and internal teams to deliver high quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading technical delivery across water sensitive design, stormwater management plans, hydraulic modelling, and flood and network projects

  • Investigation, planning, and design of three waters infrastructure

  • Drive technical input across projects while supporting project management and delivery outcomes

  • Growing and building strong client relationships and contributing to business development activities

  • Guiding and coaching junior engineers in a collaborative, knowledge sharing environment

Senior Principal/Technical Director Opportunity

For those operating at a more senior level, this role offers scope to take on broader technical leadership and strategic influence across our Three Waters portfolio.

This includes:

  • Providing technical direction and oversight across complex stormwater projects

  • Acting as a trusted technical advisor to clients and internal stakeholders

  • Playing a key role in shaping design standards, approaches, and innovation within the team

  • Supporting business development, client strategy, and longer-term capability building

  • Mentoring engineers across different levels and helping grow a high performing team

About you

Our ideal candidates will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline)

  • Significant experience delivering stormwater and water infrastructure projects

    • Associate level: 8–10+ years’ experience

    • Senior Principal/Technical Director level: 15-20+ years’ experience

  • Experience in areas such as Water Sensitive / Low Impact Design, catchment or stormwater management plans, and Three Waters infrastructure

  • Strong capability in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling and design of pipe and surface networks or flood control systems

  • Experience using or interpreting tools such as InfoWorks ICM, MIKE DHI, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW and/or GIS

  • CPEng status is an advantage, or you may be working towards chartership
