The Opportunity

Our Planning division and Christchurch office continue to grow, and this is an exciting opportunity to help establish dedicated planning capability within an already well-established multidisciplinary team.

No two days are the same, with a diverse range of projects including plan changes, innovative industrial developments, infrastructure projects, land development projects and a broad variety of resource management work. The role offers genuine variety, technical challenge and strong long-term career development.

You’ll work closely with our Christchurch team while also being supported by our wider national planning team. This role offers the opportunity to enjoy both autonomy and collaboration while helping shape the future of planning in Christchurch.

What We’re Looking For

  • Tertiary qualifications in planning, resource management or related discipline
  • A minimum of 5–10+ years of relevant New Zealand experience, already holding, or working towards full NZPI membership
  • Good knowledge and experience with relevant legislation and a willingness/keenness to upskill with new planning legislation
  • Experience preparing and managing resource consent applications
  • Sound communication, presentation and report writing skills
  • Positive attitude and an enjoyment of working in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with clients, councils and colleagues
