Network Engineer

About the role

We’re working with a well-established organisation in Hawke’s Bay looking for a Network Engineer to join their internal IT team.

This is a great opportunity for someone operating at an intermediate / Level 2 Engineer level who enjoys practical networking and infrastructure work and wants to continue building their technical capability.

The team is currently working across a range of network and infrastructure projects, creating plenty of variety and exposure to both operational support and project-based engineering work.

You’ll be joining a supportive team environment with experienced senior engineers around you, ongoing mentoring, and opportunities for professional development.

What you’ll actually do

• Support networking, switching, and infrastructure projects

• Assist with network deployments and ongoing improvement work

• Troubleshoot networking and infrastructure issues

• Support wireless and connectivity environments

• Work across Microsoft-based systems with some Linux exposure

• Assist with operational support and day-to-day infrastructure activities

• Work closely with senior engineers and internal IT teams

• Contribute to documentation and continuous improvement initiatives

This opportunity could be for you if…

• You have experience in a Level 2 / intermediate infrastructure or networking role

• You have a solid understanding of switching, VLANs, routing, or wireless networking

• You enjoy practical technical work and problem solving

• You’re keen to continue developing your networking capability

• You work well as part of a collaborative team

• You’re proactive, reliable, and willing to learn
