We're seeking an experienced Line Mechanic / Team Leader to join our Matamata team, delivering construction, maintenance and fault-response services across the electricity distribution network.

In this role, you'll lead crews in the field, coordinate daily activities and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You'll be involved in a variety of network projects, maintenance activities and fault work while mentoring team members and building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and the public.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, leading from the front and being part of a high-performing team environment.

Mōu koe | About You

You'll be an experienced Line Mechanic with strong technical capability, leadership skills and a commitment to safe work practices. You'll be confident working independently, making decisions in the field and supporting the development of others.

Essential

• Relevant Line Mechanic Registration and current practising licence
• NZQA Level 4 qualification
• Current Class 1 driver's licence
• Relevant industry experience
• Strong knowledge of SMEI and safe LV electrical work practices
• Commitment to Zero Harm and safe work practices
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to complete SWMS and JSEAs accurately
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and unsupervised
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Desirable

• Previous experience leading crews or teams
• Heavy trade licence
• Glove & Barrier qualification
