About The Role

We’re looking for a Quality Assurance Advisor to support the delivery of high-quality education across our programmes. This is a permanent, full-time role, with flexibility to work predominantly remotely while collaborating with teams nationally. You’ll play a key role in ensuring programme quality, supporting compliance with regulatory standards, and driving continuous improvement across training delivery. This role is highly collaborative, working closely with internal teams to influence outcomes and lift capability across the business.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support quality assurance processes to ensure consistency and compliance across programmes
  • Review programme delivery, assessment practices, and documentation against standards
  • Analyse performance data and identify opportunities to improve learner outcomes
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to support quality improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to moderation activities, organisational self-review reporting, and NZQA monitoring requirements
  • Support the preparation and submission of the annual TEO Self-Review Summary Report to NZQA under the integrated Quality Assurance Framework (iQAF)
  • Support staff to embed QA processes and implement systems for continuous improvement, including TEO self-review under the iQAF
  • Contribute to programme and micro-credential development, including supporting NZQA approval and accreditation processes under the Programme Approval, Recognition, and Accreditation Rules 2026
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual overhead in QA workflows through AI-assisted automation
  • Stay current with AI tools relevant to quality assurance in education share learnings with the PIQ team

Desired Skills And Experience

What you’ll bring

  • Degree in Adult Education (or similar) or equivalent experience, with unit standards 4098, 11551 and 11552 (or be willing these with Skills Group’s support)
  • Experience in educational quality assurance, moderation, and assessment within NZQA frameworks, including familiarity with the integrated Quality Assurance Framework (iQAF)
  • Curiosity and initiative around emerging technologies, including the ability to identify opportunities to reduce manual overhead through AI-assisted automation and a commitment to staying current with AI tools relevant to quality assurance in education
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
  • Experience working with education or workplace training systems and regulatory requirements
  • Strong analytical capability, including experience using Excel or similar tools
  • Experience in, or a strong understanding of, programme and micro-credential development within the NZQA approval and accreditation framework, including familiarity with learning outcomes, assessment design, and the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework (NZQCF)
