Biochemist – AI Data Trainer
About The Role
What if your deep expertise in biochemistry could help shape the next generation of AI? At Alignerr, we partner with the world's leading AI research labs to build smarter, more scientifically rigorous models — and we need PhD-level biochemists to make it happen.
This is a fully remote contract role where your domain knowledge directly influences how AI understands protein folding, metabolic flux, enzyme kinetics, and more. No AI background required — just a passion for scientific precision and clear communication.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Design Expert-Level Problems — Create advanced biochemistry challenges spanning nucleic acid chemistry, proteomics, drug-target interactions, and more to stress-test AI reasoning.
- Author Gold-Standard Solutions — Write rigorous, step-by-step technical responses that serve as benchmarks for high-level scientific accuracy.
- Audit AI Outputs — Evaluate AI-generated biochemical pathways, molecular structures, and mathematical proofs for correctness, safety, and adherence to scientific standards.
- Refine AI Reasoning — Identify flaws in AI logic — such as incorrect stoichiometry, misunderstood stereochemistry, or faulty metabolic reasoning — and provide structured feedback to improve model performance.
Who You Are
- Advanced Degree: PhD (completed or in final stages) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field
- Deep Domain Knowledge: Strong grounding in structural biology, enzymology, cellular metabolism, bioinformatics, or related areas
- Clear Scientific Communicator: Able to translate complex biochemical concepts into precise, well-structured written explanations
- Detail-Oriented: High accuracy when working with chemical equations, molecular diagrams, and experimental protocols
- No prior AI experience required — we'll get you up to speed
Nice to Have
- Experience with data annotation, evaluation, or quality review workflows
- Familiarity with computational biochemistry tools such as PyMOL, AlphaFold, or BLAST
- Background in scientific writing, peer review, or technical documentation
