PERSOL is proud to partner with Programmed Facility Management to recruit a full-time Facilities Caretaker based at Rolleston College.

We're looking for a reliable, hands-on person to help keep the school running smoothly, safely, and looking its best.

This is a stable Monday-Friday role in a supportive school environment - ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, routine, and being part of a community.

About The Role

Based on-site at Rolleston College, you'll work 40 hours per week, with 8-hour shifts scheduled between 7:00am and 6:00pm.

Reporting to the Facilities Coordinator, you'll assist with the day-to-day maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of the school's facilities. Your work will help create a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Completing general maintenance and work requests
  • Carrying out minor repairs, cleaning, and upkeep tasks
  • Conducting regular site inspections
  • Working alongside contractors and school staff
  • Updating jobs and reports using basic computer systems

This Role Is Ideal For Someone Who

  • Enjoys physical, hands-on work and being active
  • Has trade, maintenance, or handyman experience (highly regarded)
  • Is reliable, practical, and takes ownership of their work
  • Communicates well and works comfortably in a team
  • Is comfortable working in a school environment

Important Requirements

Because this role is based in a school, the successful applicant will need to:

  • Pass police vetting, Ministry of Justice checks, and drug & alcohol screening
  • Maintain a neat and well-presented appearance appropriate for working on a school site
  • Hold a full, clean NZ Driver's Licence
  • Have the legal right to work in New Zealand
