Accountant

Accountant – Fixed Term

We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Accountant to join us on a 9-month fixed-term contract and support accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls and meaningful commercial insights across our business.

Based in Auckland and reporting to the Finance Manager, this fixed-term role will support month-end and year-end reporting, GST compliance, transactional finance operations, deal analysis and continuous improvement across the finance function.

What you’ll be doing

• Supporting transactional finance activities, including direct debit payment runs, debtor monitoring, credit card reconciliations, invoicing and subscription billing.
• Responsible for deal compliance of the deal process including opening and closing deals, analysis, revenue recognition, asset disposals and ROI reporting.
• Supporting month-end and year-end accounting processes, including journals, accruals and reconciliations.
• Preparing monthly and quarterly management reports, including variance analysis and commentary.
• Reconciling general ledger, profit and loss, and balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial information.
• Preparing and submitting New Zealand and Australian GST returns in line with legislative requirements.
• Producing financial and operational reports to support business performance analysis and decision-making.
• Supporting audit requirements, financial controls, policies and process improvement initiatives.

What you’ll bring

• A tertiary qualification in Accounting or a similar discipline.
• Membership of NZICA, or working towards CA, would be preferable.
• At least 3 years’ experience in an accounting role.
• Experience supporting month-end and year-end financial processes, including reconciliations, reporting and variance analysis.
• Exposure to management accounting, GST compliance and financial analysis.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across the business.
