The scale and complexity of Cyber-attacks is increasing everydayand businesses need a trusted ally to steer them through this challenging landscape.
As a CyberDefenceAnalyst,you'llbe an essential part of our Managed CyberDefenceteam who bring together advanced technology,dataandexpertiseto help safeguard client organisations New Zealand wide, working on projects that redefine the future of security.
Based in the vibrant cities of Aucklandor Wellington,you'llstart with in-person training, followed by the flexibility to work remotely, allowing you to contribute to complex digital ecosystems.
The role involves occasionalpublic holidays balanced by time off during weekdays. Minimal travel means you can concentrate on honing your skills effectively.
Key responsibilities of this role will be supported with ongoing training:
- Provide support to the SOC (Security Operations Centre) and contribute to the delivery of our cyber/technology risk practice, partnering with some of NZ’s largest organisations and delivering engagements to a high standard.
- Work within, and ultimately help shape, our response framework for globally scalable cyber defence.
- Provide technical guidance to client organisations to correctly gather relevant data, analyse and respond to cyber security incidents.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure security considerations are integrated into design and processes, ensuring compliance with best practices.
- Opportunity to develop strong identity managed service skillset.
- Monitor and analyse security events and identify trends, attacks, and potential threats.
- Support security engineering efforts by implementing and maintaining effective controls.
- Participate in crisis simulation exercises to test incident response capabilities.
- Research and stay current on the latest trends, best practices, and technology developments.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to translate technical understanding into well-thought-out advice for client organisations and work with cross-functional teams to provide business-focused solutions.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to identify patterns and trends in data to extract useful indicators of compromise.
- Comfortable in client-facing environments and possesses a genuine interest in people.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced settings, managing conflicting deadlines and requirements across a range of projects.
Desirable skills and experience:
- Knowledge of Windows system internals, Defender, and Active Directory's role within enterprises is beneficial.
- Familiarity with EPP/EDR products such as Sentinel, CrowdStrike, Palo-Alto or similar is beneficial.
- Familiarity with identity products such as SailPoint, CyberArk or similar is beneficial.
- Some knowledge of scripting languages like Python, Perl, or PowerShell for process automation and data analysis is a plus.
