The Role
Millbrook Resort is New Zealand’s leading lifestyle resort. Our mission is to be recognised as world-class and achieve excellence in all aspects of our business.
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Finance Manager to lead and elevate our finance function. Reporting to our Chief Financial Officer, the Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in driving financial excellence across the business. You will provide strategic financial leadership, oversee daily finance operations, and lead and develop a high-performing finance team. You will foster a collaborative and supportive environment, ensuring strong capability and engagement across the function.
Key responsibilities:
- Leading, coaching, and developing the finance team, including Accounts Payable and Receivable functions
- Creating a positive, high-performing team culture with a focus on accountability and continuous development
- Overseeing financial reporting, month-end processes, and balance sheet integrity
- Delivering accurate and timely financial insights to support business performance
- Managing budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and robust internal controls
- Partnering with leaders across the business to drive performance and operational efficiencies
Success Profile
- ACCA, CA, or equivalent qualification (essential)
- A relevant tertiary qualification in accounting or finance
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing finance teams
- A genuine passion for people leadership, with the ability to mentor, motivate, and grow capability
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking capability
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Advanced numeracy and systems skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- A collaborative, resilient, and solutions-focused approach
Location: Arrowtown, Queenstown.
Hours: Full time permanent (40 hours per week guaranteed)
