Cafe/Restaurant Manager

Our Cafe/Restaurant, is a vibrant and popular cafe dedicated to providing exceptional service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Cafe Manager to join our team and contribute to the continued success of our establishment.

Our cafe, situated in Masterton, operates every day, including public holidays, from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, and weekend work is an essential part of this role.

Min Working Hours : 32 hours per week

Job type: Permanent Full-Time

As a Cafe manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the

cafe.

Your responsibilities will include

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the café to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Collaborate with the Chef or Cook to plan and update menus.
• Recruit, supervise, train, and motivate both front-of-house and kitchen staff.
• Prepare staff rosters and monitor attendance to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
• Monitor stock levels, place orders, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
• Manage daily cash flow, operate POS systems, and handle banking procedures.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, and licensing regulations.
• Oversee customer service standards and resolve any customer issues promptly and professionally.
• Monitor sales performance, control costs, and assist with budgeting and profitability.
• Coordinate marketing activities, seasonal promotions, and community events to enhance business growth

Requirements

• At least 6 months of experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality setting (in New Zealand or overseas).

OR

• Diploma Level 5 or above qualification

• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
• Must need Barista skills will be an advantage and knowledge of food.
