We are in the animal health business, partnering with our clients in the areas of Research and Development (R&D) and manufacturing to produce pharmaceuticals for both farm and companion animals. About The Role
The key purpose of the Maintenance Engineering role is to carry out both routine and non-routine maintenance on production equipment and site facilities. Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, you will support the operation team by ensuring the smooth and uninterrupted operation of production equipment and site utilities.
You will work closely with external service providers and professionals to improve production facilities, reduce breakdowns and enhance the overall reliability and safety of the plant. GMP compliance will be central to all decision-making, along with strict adherence to all Health, Safety & Environment procedures.
About You
You will be hands-on and someone who enjoys the challenge of diagnosing faults and repairing production equipment and facilities as quickly as possible. By nature, you'll be an energetic, driven person with a focus on quality and detail being imperative as we are regulated by the strictest of pharmaceutical standards.
This is a permanent full-time role with working hours of 6:00am - 2:30pm Monday to Friday with some overtime and weekends required as production schedules and demands require. On-call work will be required, particularly when production is in operation but will be compensated separately from your base salary.
Your Experience And Capabilities Will Include
- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical experience or a dual trade qualification
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within a quality-focused manufacturing or highly regulated/GMP environment
- Experience working with computerised systems, including ERP systems and automation equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and respond effectively to production issues
- Maintain plant and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimise downtime
- Work closely and in harmony with supervisors, production teams, and external contractors
- Ensure all work complies with food safety, GMP, and Health & Safety standards
- A background in distribution, logistics, or supply chain within a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment will be highly desirable.
- Coach and support operators on equipment use and basic fault prevention
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Your Background, Experience And Attributes Will Include
- Minimum 3 years’ experience preferably in a pharmaceutical or related manufacturing industry with cGMP capability.
- Understanding and experience of the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015.
