Mō te tūranga - About the role

As a Manager in the Governance & Reporting team, you’ll help bring together a clear, accurate view of the NZ Division’s non‑financial risk and control environment. Reporting to the Senior Manager, you’ll support delivery of risk assessment processes, build a working understanding of divisional risk appetite, and contribute to high‑quality reporting that enables timely escalation and decision‑making. The role also supports co-ordination and and improvement of divisional issue, event, management, including supporting standardization activities.

The Manager, Governance and Reporting position is a dynamic and impactful role with a broad range of responsibilities. Some of your day-to-day activities may include the below:

Collating inputs from Risk Type COEs and Controls Testing to help build divisional views of the risk and control environment

Compiling Risk Profiles across multiple risk themes by gathering inputs, maintaining templates, and ensuring completeness and accuracy

Identifying data gaps, inconsistencies or emerging themes and escalating to senior leads/managers as required

Provide support to business unit 1B spokes, supporting standardisation and workflow.

Monitoring and reporting risks outside risk appetite to support escalation and tracking

Issue lifecycle activities (action tracking, evidence collation, reporting) using established tools and frameworks

To grow and be successful in this role, you will bring:

Experience in risk, governance, controls, audit, or assurance roles within a complex organisation

Strong understanding of non‑financial risk frameworks, including risk assessment, control environments and assurance concepts

Working knowledge of divisional risk appetite and how it is applied and monitored in practice

Confidence coordinating inputs and delivery activities across multiple teams

Strong analytical capability to synthesise risk information into clear, structured insights

Sound judgement to identify themes, emerging risks, and matters requiring escalation

Clear written and verbal communication skills for governance‑ready reporting and materials

Organisational skills to manage multiple concurrent delivery activities

Understanding of event and issue lifecycles (including RCA and lessons learned) and ability to contribute to investigations through analysis and documentation
