About the Role

We're looking for a Distribution Operations Lead to join our Distribution team and play a key role in improving how we operate, enabling our Advice Channels to deliver exceptional outcomes for our Members. This role is based in Wellington. This role sits at the heart of Distribution Operations, working across the business to drive operational efficiency, support strategic initiatives, and strengthen the way our teams work together. Working closely with Advisers, leaders and functional teams across MAS, you'll lead and coordinate initiatives that enhance performance, streamline processes, and ensure our people have what they need to deliver high-quality advice and service. As a trusted partner, you'll bring a strong operational lens - balancing big-picture thinking with practical delivery and helping the business prioritise what matters most. Responsibilities

  • Leading and supporting delivery of key operational initiatives that improve the performance and effectiveness of our Distribution teams
  • Working alongside leaders to plan, prioritise and coordinate activity across Advice Channels
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline processes, reduce inefficiencies and improve ways of working
  • Supporting the delivery of change initiatives, including new tools, systems and improvements to how we operate
  • Tracking and reporting on performance, providing insights that support informed decision making
  • Collaborating with teams across MAS - including Digital, Marketing, Finance and People & Transformation - to deliver aligned outcomes
  • Influencing stakeholders to ensure initiatives land well and deliver real value
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of operational capability across Distribution

Qualifications

  • Significant experience (typically 5+ years) in an operations, business improvement or delivery-focused role within financial services or a similar environment.

Required Skills

  • Experience working across complex, matrix environments with multiple stakeholders
  • A strong understanding of operational planning, performance improvement and change delivery
  • Sound understanding and use of AI to improve operational efficiency
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn insight into action
  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes
  • A proactive, forward-thinking approach and a genuine drive to improve how things are done
  • A growth mindset and commitment to delivering great outcomes for Members
