Emergency Medicine Physician

You will have expertise in resuscitation and trauma, disaster and prehospital medicine, helicopter emergency medical services, research, and clinical toxicology

The Hospital's services are actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education incorporating both clinical and university-based teaching with a focus on a number of key national and international research projects

Balance your work / lifestyle

You will:

• Be a medical practitioner vocationally registered with the New Zealand Medical Council
• Be a Fellow of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine or an equivalent overseas institution (please attach copy to your application)
• Have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in Emergency Medicine
• Be actively involved in College’s Continued Professional Development (CPD) Program
• Have a commitment to multiculturalism

You will be able to:

• Demonstrate the ability to practice independently in all aspects of emergency medicine care
• Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and provide leadership to medical and nursing staff
• Demonstrate a high standard of written and verbal communication
• Work as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team
• Maintain good professional relationships and be respectful of other team members’ skills
• Demonstrate ability to work flexibly in a constantly changing and challenging environment
• Participate in personal professional development and demonstrate a willingness to take on further roles within the team
• Provide patient centred care and to role model this standard to other staff
• Participate in emergency medicine research as required
• Teach, mentor, supervise and direct junior medical staff
