Ko tou ake mahi - What you'll do
This position reports to the Manager Health Science in the Strategy Policy Group.
We deliver expert guidance on health science, health systems, and health priorities, as well as library services. Their work ensures a robust evidence base supports the Ministry's programmes and decision-making processes.
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Senior Librarian to join our team at the Ministry of Health for a one-year parental leave cover.
- As Senior Reference Librarian, plan and implement reference services across the Ministry,
- Build internal and external relationships to raise awareness of the Library team's critical role, supporting evidence-informed decision making at Ministry of Health - Manatu Hauora,
- Mentor the other librarians using your extensive skills in reference and research.
Ko nga pukenga ou - What you'll bring
- Qualification in librarianship or equivalent library experience,
- Experience using online and print library research tools,
- Skilled in interpreting clients' queries through the reference interview process, enabling retrieval of the most relevant research results,
- Experience using a Library Management System,
- Proven experience in applying critical thinking and using sound judgement to develop options and provide advice.
