About The Role
This is a senior leadership role with broad regional influence. You will lead the performance of multiple branches across Canterbury and Tasman, ensuring operational effectiveness, strong financial outcomes, and consistent service delivery.
Leading through your leadership team, you’ll build a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. You’ll also identify growth opportunities, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and contribute to regional strategy, with oversight of health and safety, compliance, overall performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop Operations Managers, Supervisors, and teams
- Drive performance, consistency, and accountability across the region
- Foster a high-performing, safety focused culture
- Identify opportunities for improvement, efficiency and growth
- Build and maintain key customer, council, and stakeholder relationships
- Oversee financial performance including budgets and profitability
- Support and champion health, safety, and environmental outcomes
- Maintain effective systems, processes, and reporting
- Lead change and continuous improvement initiatives
- Contribute to regional strategy and long-term planning
What We’re Looking For
You will bring:
- Proven senior leadership experience in operational, transport, waste, logistics, or service-based industries
- Strong experience leading leaders, including Operations Managers and Supervisors
- A people-first leadership style with strong influencing and engagement skills
- Sound commercial and financial acumen
- Experience managing multi-site or complex operational environments
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- A solid understanding of health, safety and regulatory compliance
- The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational leadership
- Resilience and confidence leading through change and growth
- Experience within waste, environmental, transport, or contracting industries would be highly regarded
