Professional Building Consultants Ltd (PBC) is a respected, privately owned Accredited Organisation Building (AOB), delivering high-quality building consent and inspection services. We are known for our technical strength, professional integrity, and ongoing commitment to developing our people.
We are seeking an experienced Quality and Training Lead to drive training, competency, and technical capability across the business, while ensuring our accreditation systems remain strong and effective.
About the role
Reporting to the Manager – Quality & Training, and working closely with PBC Directors and senior technical staff, you will take a lead role in:
- Designing, Coordinating and delivering technical training across the business
- Delivering competency assessments and supporting staff development
- Supporting new staff onboarding and capability uplift
- Providing day-to-day technical guidance and mentorship
- Maintaining accreditation systems and ensuring compliance
Primary objectives
- Design, Plan, Coordinate, and deliver technical training for new and existing staff
- Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of PBC’s competency assessment programme
- Support capability uplift across all technical roles
- Provide technical leadership, coaching, and guidance to staff
- Ensure PBC retains its IANZ BCA Accreditation and Approved Organisation (Building) status
- Maintain and improve accredited policies, procedures, and quality systems
- Oversee the internal technical audit programme
- Deliver a high-quality, professional service to clients and stakeholders
About you
We’re looking for a confident, credible professional who is passionate about developing people and strengthening technical capability.
- Proven experience designing and delivering training and metouring staff
- Strong knowledge of BCA accreditation requirements and IANZ processes
- Experience in building control, regulatory compliance, or quality systems would be a huge plus
- A solid understanding of the NZ Building Code and regulatory framework
- Strong written skills for policies, training materials, and technical documentation
- Ability to work with Directors, managers, councils, and staff
- A proactive, practical approach with strong attention to detail
You may enven hold a qualification that meets Regulation 18 of the Building (Accreditation of Building Consent Authorities) Regulations 2006.

Salary Range
$100,000 - $130,000 based on experience
