Operations Manager

Fluid Recruitment is proud to exclusively partner with Unison Contracting Services Limited in searching for an Operations Manager to lead its Taupō Depot.

The Role

Lead the Taupō business operations, consisting of 5 direct reports and ~25 indirect reports.

Manage the Works Group to provide an efficient, effective, and prompt service for Unison Networks and 3rd party customers that include generators, other electricity distribution networks and heavy industry. In doing so you will:

• Lead, support, and mentor your team, continuing to build capability while harnessing the existing collaborative culture
• Champion a strong health and safety culture through visible leadership, proactive risk management, and incident investigation
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance team performance, service delivery, and operational efficiency
• Support the Quality Management System, maintaining ISO 9001 standards and reinforcing Unison’s customer focused approach
• Oversee the depot’s financial performance including forecasting, budgeting, and reporting

Further, input into strategic planning and recommend new initiatives that contribute to Unison Contracting’s growth alongside your fellow Operations Managers from other regions and the General Manager – Unison Network Services.

About You

Pragmatic and solutions focused, you will have worked in an infrastructure related environment.

With a track record of having led sizable teams, you’ll demonstrate the ability to build rapport and creditability across your team, providing clear direction and effective leadership.

Supporting essential infrastructure, you will be adaptable and level-headed, balancing necessary reactive activities while maintaining a long-term strategic view.

While electrical knowledge is preferred, it is not essential. While exposure to tendering and delivering work programmes will also be advantageous.
