Performance Marketing Specialist
ROAS Performance Marketing
About ROAS Performance Marketing
ROAS Performance Marketing is a New Zealand-based agency focused on measurable business outcomes. We work with eCommerce, lead generation, trades, hospitality, retail, service businesses, and not-for-profit clients who want advertising tied to real commercial performance. Return on advertising spend sits at the centre of everything we do.
As the business enters a period of rapid growth, we're looking for a technically skilled Performance Marketing Specialist to help manage, optimise, and scale advertising performance across Meta and Google platforms.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on role where you'll work directly across live client accounts, improving advertising performance, attribution accuracy, and conversion outcomes. You'll have real influence over how client budgets perform and how the agency grows.
It's suited to someone who wants autonomy, variety, and the chance to shape a growing business from the inside, rather than sitting inside a large corporate marketing team.
This is a technical performance marketing role. It does not involve social media management, organic content, graphic design, or post boosting.
What You'll Be Doing
Campaign Strategy & Management
• Build and manage Meta and Google Ads campaigns structured for scale, efficiency, and measurable outcomes
• Optimise campaigns toward ROAS, CPA, lead quality, and revenue targets
• Identify wasted spend and performance bottlenecks quickly
• Conduct campaign audits and performance reviews
• Develop testing strategies across audiences, offers, hooks, placements, and campaign structures
• Produce clear reporting and actionable insights for clients
Tracking, Attribution & Measurement
• Define meaningful measures of success for client campaigns
• Set up and troubleshoot conversion tracking infrastructure including Google Tag Manager, GA4 events, Meta Pixel, Conversion API (CAPI), Google Ads conversion tracking, and enhanced conversions
• Validate attribution and tracking accuracy across platforms
• Diagnose data inconsistencies and ensure reporting reflects real business outcomes
Creative & Performance Analysis
• Analyse creative performance across campaigns to identify what's driving results
• Build clear iteration briefs for designers and content creators (you won't produce the creative yourself, but you'll direct what gets made next)
• Recommend testing opportunities based on performance insights
Commercial & Strategic Thinking
• Contribute ideas for improving lead quality, conversion rates, and profitability
• Help identify scalable growth opportunities across client accounts
• Work closely with leadership during a high-growth phase of the business
What We're Looking For
Essential
• Strong hands-on experience managing Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads
• Working knowledge of Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager
• Proven experience implementing and troubleshooting conversion tracking across Google and Meta platforms, including CAPI and GTM
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
• Experience optimising campaigns toward measurable business outcomes
• Understanding of attribution challenges and platform reporting limitations
• Confidence interpreting campaign, conversion, and analytics data
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to balance technical execution with strategic thinking
Highly Valued
If you have experience in any of the following, make sure you mention it. These aren't hard requirements, but they'll set your application apart.
• Agency-side performance marketing experience
• Experience with eCommerce and lead generation campaigns
• Experience with Google Ad Grants or charity and not-for-profit campaigns
• Understanding of donation funnels and supporter acquisition
• Experience with Shopify, Klaviyo, CRM integrations, or conversion optimisation
• Google Ads certification (Google Skillshop)
• Meta Certified Professional accreditation (Meta Blueprint)
Why This Role
• Genuine flexibility in a part-time structure that respects your time
• Opportunity to shape a rapidly growing agency, not just fill a seat
• Exposure to a wide variety of industries and campaign types
• Direct influence on client growth and real business outcomes
• Work closely with senior leadership in a high-autonomy environment
• Performance-focused culture where initiative matters more than process
