Registered Nurse - Post Anaesthetic Care Unit

Here's an opportunity for an RN to join our supportive PACU team at Allevia Hospital Ascot in Remuera, Auckland on a permanent 0.9 FTE basis. You'll work 8 hr shifts rostered between 0730 and 2030, primarily Mon-Fri. The roster is published 3-4 weeks in advance, with the ability to self-request shifts and shift swap with other RNs. There is occasional overnight on-call, and the opportunity to work some Saturdays. No night shifts.

We have 12 ORs at Ascot and theatre cases include: General, Orthopaedic, Spinal, Neuro, Gynae, Plastics, ENT, Urology (incl Da Vinci Robotics). Or patients are both adults and children. We have PACUs across 2 floors - including day stay, and you will rotate across both areas.

Ngā kōrero mōu | About you

• Registration as an RN in NZ with a current APC
• A minimum of 12 months current PACU experience within a NZ hospital (or similar e.g. Australia, UK, Ireland, Canada)
• Strong acute care skills - allowing you to think on your feet; make effective decisions and advocate for your patients to ensure optimal outcomes
• Great communication skills and the ability to cope with a busy and ever changing environment
• Ideally - certification in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS level 6) and/or certified in paediatric advanced life support (PALS), however the opportunity to obtain certification is available
