Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The Opportunity

Due to a large-scale SAP project, we have a fixed term opportunity for a Finance Systems Specialist to join the team. This role sits at the centre of Finance Systems, acting as a key triage point for SAP Finance-related issues across Fixed Assets, Real Estate, Plant Maintenance and Project Systems.

You will receive, investigate and resolve system queries end to end, ensuring issues are understood, prioritised and resolved within agreed service levels. Working across Finance and technology teams, you will bridge business needs with system capability, applying strong financial knowledge to diagnose issues, support configuration changes and guide decision making.

You will play a critical role in maintaining system performance, supporting process improvements, and ensuring Finance teams can operate effectively within SAP. You will also contribute to ongoing optimisation by identifying root causes, supporting testing and enhancements, and improving workflows, automation and reporting outcomes across complex, integrated systems.

Ō Wheako, ō Pūkenga | Your Experience

You are an SAP functional specialist, with demonstrated experience supporting SAP Finance modules including Fixed Assets (FI-AA), Real Estate (RE-FX) and Project Systems (PS), within a complex ERP environment.

In Addition, You Demonstrate

• Strong understanding of finance processes and accounting principles, including fixed assets, coupled with an ability to interpret financial impacts.
• Capability in incident management, from triage through to root cause analysis and end to end resolution.
• Proven experience troubleshooting system and process issues, including diagnosing configuration-related problems.
• Experience supporting minor configuration changes and system testing activities.
• Ability to analyse system data, workflows and integrations to identify issues and downstream impacts.
• Confidence engaging both business and technical stakeholders, acting as an effective bridge between the two.
• Clear, structured communication, with confidence managing expectations throughout issue resolution.
• Strong prioritisation skills, able to respond to competing demands in high-volume environments.
• A collaborative, accountable approach, with a focus on ownership and continuous improvement.
