Advice Quality Analyst

We're looking for Advice Quality Analysts to join our Distribution team that will play a critical role in supporting and strengthening the delivery of high quality, compliant insurance and investment advice for our Members. These positions are based in either our Auckland or Wellington offices.
Working closely with Advisers, leaders and governance teams, you'll review advice documentation before it's issued to Members, ensuring it meets MAS' professional standards and the FMA's regulatory guidelines.
As a trusted partner and subject matter expert, you'll provide constructive feedback and coaching that helps lift capability and supports excellence in advice delivery across MAS. Please note that there is flexibility on offer in these new positions for the right candidate, such as considering part-time or flexi- hours / reduced days, such as 9 day fortnight.
What Your Day Might Look Like
- Reviewing insurance and investment advice documents to ensure they are complete, accurate and compliant with MAS processes, regulatory requirements and ethical standards
- Providing clear, constructive feedback to Advisers, including identifying gaps, risks or improvements needed before advice is issued
- Working collaboratively with Advisers and leaders to support capability uplift through coaching conversations and practical guidance
- Providing sign off on advice documentation once requirements are met and advice is ready to be delivered to Members
- Supporting workflow management across the AQA team, including prioritisation and contributing to operational planning
- Identifying opportunities to improve advice processes, efficiency and ways of working to enhance both Adviser and Member experience
- Contributing insights and feedback on trends for reporting and discussions with Distribution leadership to support data informed decision making
What We're Looking For
- Significant experience, 7+ years' in an operations, advice quality, governance, compliance or similar role within financial services. This can also include involvement in plan writing / checking and paraplanning roles.
- An excellent understanding of insurance and/or investment advice. This should include knowledge of industry best practice, regulatory obligations and excellence in advice standards
- NZ Certificate in Financial Services Level 5 qualification (or equivalent) is essential
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the confidence to make sound decisions and provide clear rationale behind recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide feedback in a constructive and professional way
- Able to build trusted relationships with advisers and the Advice Quality Team who you will work closely with
- Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a pooled environment
