Office Administrator - Mori Business Unit

BDO Gisborne is looking for a capable and client-focused Office Administrator to join our Māori Business Unit. This is a varied role where you’ll provide administrative and client support to the team, help keep day-to-day operations running smoothly, and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
You’ll be joining a firm that values people, relationships, and exceptional client service, with deep roots in the local community.
What You’ll Do
- Provide administrative support to the Māori Business Unit and wider firm as needed
- Support the Māori Business Unit Partners with PA services
- Be a first point of contact for clients and shareholder enquiries
- Assist with wages, monthly payments, and other accounting administration
- Prepare client correspondence and documents for signing
- Coordinate meetings, room bookings, and catering
- Process fees and maintain filing and archiving systems
- Liaise with clients to gather information and respond to requests promptly
- Support the team to achieve shared goals and deliver excellent service
What you’ll bring
- At least three years’ experience in an administration or account’s role
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence using Microsoft Office; experience with Xero and payroll software is an advantage
- Basic knowledge of PAYE, GST, and accounts processes
- A professional, reliable, and team-focused approach
- Strong relationship-building and client service skills
- Knowledge of Māori business would be beneficial
