BDO Gisborne is looking for a capable and client-focused Office Administrator to join our Māori Business Unit. This is a varied role where you’ll provide administrative and client support to the team, help keep day-to-day operations running smoothly, and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

You’ll be joining a firm that values people, relationships, and exceptional client service, with deep roots in the local community.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide administrative support to the Māori Business Unit and wider firm as needed
  • Support the Māori Business Unit Partners with PA services
  • Be a first point of contact for clients and shareholder enquiries
  • Assist with wages, monthly payments, and other accounting administration
  • Prepare client correspondence and documents for signing
  • Coordinate meetings, room bookings, and catering
  • Process fees and maintain filing and archiving systems
  • Liaise with clients to gather information and respond to requests promptly
  • Support the team to achieve shared goals and deliver excellent service

What you’ll bring

  • At least three years’ experience in an administration or account’s role
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office; experience with Xero and payroll software is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of PAYE, GST, and accounts processes
  • A professional, reliable, and team-focused approach
  • Strong relationship-building and client service skills
  • Knowledge of Māori business would be beneficial
