Technical Business Analyst – Enterprise Applications

At Beca, you will play a key role in improving the reliability, efficiency and usability of Beca’s enterprise systems, helping to shape foundational processes across finance, HR, procurement and project delivery. Your work will help address real-world, complex and unique problems across business lines, clients, countries and technology platforms.

Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

This role provides the opportunity to be part of a step change in Beca’s enterprise technology programme, supporting Beca’s second century of growth. You will work within the ICT Platforms team to bridge business needs and technology capabilities, enabling the enhancement, integration, and effective support of our enterprise applications.

You will translate business needs into clear, detailed technical requirements and specifications for system enhancements or software development. In doing so, you will analyse complex business processes and system behaviour to identify root causes, remediation paths, and opportunities for efficiency and quality improvements. The role also involves investigating current systems and BAU operational issues to support ongoing platform stability and performance, and producing and maintaining high‑quality technical documentation, including data models, workflows, and system diagrams.

This role offers a balance of delivery and improvement work alongside operational support, with a strong focus on enabling system enhancements while supporting platform stability.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and implementation partners to simplify complexity and deliver practical, value‑driven solutions. This involves building strong working relationships by understanding business strategies, priorities, and technology roadmaps, and communicating clearly with both technical and non‑technical audiences to ensure shared understanding of requirements and solutions.

Experience with end‑to‑end enterprise processes, system integrations, and data flows is important for success in this role.

Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to build effective working relationships are essential. You will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, context switching across systems and workstreams, and supporting delivery within a large and evolving enterprise transformation environment.

Mōu ake | About You

We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst with 5+ years’ experience working on large, complex business and technology initiatives, ideally involving core enterprise system platforms and integrations. You will have a solid understanding of the software delivery lifecycle, with working knowledge of APIs, database structures, and SQL. You’ll have proven experience in stakeholder management, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The role requires experience working across a range of delivery methodologies, along with strong skills in analysing complex problems.

As a Business Analyst with enterprise systems exposure, you are able to understand end-to-end business processes and how technology enables them. You are comfortable working within complex system environments and can translate business needs into clear, structured requirements. You adapt your communication style to suit a range of audiences, from business users to technical specialists.
