Intermediate and Senior Civil Engineer

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for both

Intermediate and Senior Civil Engineers to join a growing Hawke’s Bay team. These are hands-on roles offering involvement across the full project lifecycle rather than being confined to a single technical niche.

You will contribute to feasibility assessments, design, modelling and delivery, working directly with clients and senior engineers. Depending on your strengths, the role can be shaped around civil design, flood modelling, or a balance of both. Senior engineers will take a lead role in technical delivery, mentoring and project oversight, while intermediate engineers will be supported to broaden their capability and step up in responsibility.

Projects span land development, stormwater and wastewater infrastructure, flood risk assessment and mitigation, and wider civil and environmental engineering work.

Role Requirements

• Degree qualified in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent)
• Intermediate level: typically 3 plus years of relevant experience
• Senior level: proven experience delivering and leading civil infrastructure projects
• Experience in either civil design using Civil 3D, 12D and/or 2D flood modelling
• Exposure to flood modelling software such as TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, MIKE or InfoWorks ICM is advantageous but can be taught
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and internal teams
• Progress toward, or eligibility for, professional registration is beneficial
