Our client is a well-established civil contractor with over 30 years’ experience delivering complex water infrastructure projects across Auckland and the Waikato. With a strong pipeline of secured work and continued growth in the water sector, they are now seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of critical infrastructure projects that directly impact local communities.

About the Role

You will take ownership of end-to-end project delivery across a range of water infrastructure projects, including wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, sewer networks, and stormwater systems.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong commercial awareness, technical capability, and the ability to drive performance across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle delivery of civil infrastructure projects from tender through to completion
  • Contribute to pricing, tendering, and work-winning activities
  • Develop and drive project programmes, methodologies, and delivery strategies
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and commercial outcomes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification
  • Proactively identify and manage risks, resolving technical and commercial challenges
  • Maintain high standards across health & safety, quality, and environmental compliance

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 10+ years’ experience delivering civil/water infrastructure projects in New Zealand
  • Strong experience across 3 waters / water infrastructure projects
  • Proven commercial acumen, including contract management and project financials
  • Ability to lead teams and build strong working relationships across stakeholders
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
