As a Specialist Consultant, you won’t just manage claims—you’ll lead strategy, influence outcomes, and represent Suncorp in high-stakes negotiations. This is your opportunity to work at the forefront of marine insurance, shaping fair and effective resolutions while delivering exceptional customer outcomes.

What You’ll Do

• Take ownership of large, complex, and high-value marine claims, delivering outstanding solutions across all classes
• Navigate escalated and disputed claims, including formal proceedings through courts and dispute resolution bodies
• Act as a key representative for Suncorp at mediations, negotiations, and court hearings
• Partner with internal experts to share knowledge, provide guidance, and uplift capability across the wider team
• Support and mentor colleagues, helping others grow while strengthening team performance
• Drive continuous improvement, identifying better, smarter ways to deliver claims outcomes
• Manage reinsurance recoveries through bordereaux processes

What You’ll Bring

• A tertiary qualification in Law or a relevant business discipline
• Around 10+ years’ experience in claims advocacy, with deep expertise in marine claims
• Exceptional negotiation and dispute resolution skills, with a strategic mindset
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Outstanding communication skills, with the confidence to influence at all levels
