Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in the lives of families across our region? We're looking for a visionary leader to take charge of the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of our family homes. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of care and support in a role that blends leadership, innovation, and heart.

As the Family Homes Manager, you'll:

  • Drive Strategic Change - Lead the transformation of how family homes operate, ensuring they meet evolving needs with excellence.
  • Build Robust Systems - Design and implement efficient processes that support high-quality service delivery.
  • Inspire and Lead - Provide strong leadership and guidance to ensure every family home thrives.
  • Champion Quality - Promote continuous improvement and uphold the highest standards of care.
  • Ensure Safety - Oversee and support the implementation of comprehensive Site Safety Plans.
  • Coordinate Placements - Manage the placement process to ensure families receive the right support at the right time.

You are a passionate and authentic leader - you inspire and challenge your direct reports, set clear agreed goals and establish best practice. You are calm under pressure and can lead influentially and effectively in a crisis. You work in a way that encourages your team to consistently improve and grow. You have a clear understanding of what best care looks like in a Family Home.

Key requirements of the role include:

  • Providing leadership in implementing the Family Home operating and care model across diverse and complex contexts
  • Experience supporting children in care where behaviour is complex or challenging
  • Sound judgement in applying therapeutic approaches in real‑world situations
  • Experience working in partnership with whānau, hapū, iwi and NGO family home providers
  • Strengths‑based leadership and an ability to collaborate across functions to achieve shared outcomes
  • Building strong, credible working relationships with Regional and Site teams
  • An understanding of cross‑cultural practice, including tikanga Māori and Pacific cultures
