About the role | Mō te tūranga

This is a newly created high-impact role where you’ll help grow Public Trust’s Corporate Trustee Services business and build strong connections across the funds management industry. You’ll be working at the top end of the market, engaging with senior leaders and helping turn opportunities into long-term partnerships.

You’ll focus mainly on new business – managing a pipeline, starting conversations, and guiding opportunities through to delivery. It’s a role where patience and persistence matter, as deals can take time, but you’ll have real ownership and visibility along the way. You’ll also play a part in shaping how we take our services to market, working closely with teams across the business.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Build relationships across the funds market and develop new business opportunities
  • Take opportunities from first conversation through to onboarding and early client experience
  • Work closely with internal teams to shape clear, practical solutions
  • Contribute to pricing, proposals, and how we position our services
  • Stay close to the market - understanding key players, trends, and where opportunities sit

About you

You’re someone who enjoys being out in the market, meeting people, and building relationships that lead to real outcomes. You understand the funds or financial services environment (or have worked closely alongside it), and you’re comfortable navigating a complex ecosystem.

You’re motivated, proactive, and able to manage a long sales cycle without losing momentum. You take initiative, juggle priorities well, and enjoy being part of a team that’s focused on growth.

You’ll bring

  • Experience in business development or relationship-focused roles within financial services or professional services (for example funds management, banking, or accounting or legal firms)
  • A good understanding of how the funds or investment management industry works
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders and representing your organisation externally
  • The ability to build a pipeline and see opportunities through, even when they take time
  • A self-driven mindset, with the ability to take ownership and deliver results

This is a chance to step into a visible role with real influence - both inside Public Trust and in the market. You’ll have the opportunity to continue building your reputation, work alongside experienced leaders, and see the direct impact of your work. If you enjoy owning the full business development journey and building relationships at a senior level, this could be a great fit.
