University Security Site Supervisor

We’re looking for an experienced

Security Site Supervisor to take full operational ownership of security service delivery at a single, dedicated university campus in Hamilton. You’ll lead from the front, keep service standards high, and build strong relationships with both your team and the client.

This is a Monday - Friday role, working evening shifts - 4pm-12am (midnight), 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day delivery of security services, ensuring all shifts are covered and compliant
  • Act as the escalation point for incidents, emergencies, and emerging risks
  • Be the primary point of contact for the client and contribute to regular site meetings
  • Set clear expectations and drive service improvements
  • Lead, coach and develop security staff across the site
  • Manage performance, attendance, wellbeing and team culture in line with policy
  • Work with Operations Coordinators to deliver effective rosters and leave planning
  • Ensure COA, site training and inductions are current and consistently reinforced
  • Maintain adherence to SOPs and site procedures through visible leadership
  • Oversee incident response, reporting and investigations
  • Implement corrective actions in partnership with the client
  • Promote a strong H&S culture and continuous improvement on site
  • Additional duties may include: Patrolling, lock-up/un-lock, egress checks, CCTV monitoring, and other operational tasks.

About you

  • Proven leadership experience in security or similar operational environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including clear reporting
  • Calm under pressure with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A Current Green Certificate of Approval (COA) or the ability to obtain one
  • Experience managing a complex site with multiple stakeholders
  • Confident, professional client-facing leadership experience
