At Napier City Council, our aquatic facilities play an important role in supporting community wellbeing, recreation, and connection. Napier Aquatic Centre is a busy and welcoming environment where people of all ages come to swim, learn, and relax and our reception team is central to creating a positive experience for every visitor.

We’re currently seeking a Pool Receptionist to join our Customer Services team in full-time capacity, offering flexible hours across the fortnight. These roles provide an excellent opportunity to balance work with other commitments while being part of a supportive, team-focused environment.

Te Āheinga - The Opportunity

  • Be the welcoming face of Napier Aquatic Centre, assisting swimmers and visitors with enquiries and information
  • Manage bookings, cash handling, payments, and reception administration
  • Support Centre operations by maintaining high presentation standards and accurate records
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for all customers
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations

He kōrero mōhou - About You

  • Proven experience in a customer-focused role, ideally in retail or a busy service environment
  • Confidence handling payments, bookings, and basic administration with accuracy
  • Strong communication skills and a warm, professional manner
  • The ability to stay calm, organised, and positive in a high-energy environment
  • A flexible, team-focused approach and willingness to pitch in where needed

This is a permanent full time role, hours will be rostered to support operational needs and may include varied shifts across the fortnight.

The hourly rate for this role is $26.28-$28.52 (plus KiwiSaver if eligible), with the final offer depending on your skills and experience.
