We have a permanent opportunity for an Operations Consultant to join our high‑performing operations environment.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

As an Operations Consultant within Lending & Data Maintenance, you’ll support internal teams by managing loan and product maintenance activities and responding to lending‑related queries. This is a phone‑based and processing‑focused role, working closely with frontline teams such as Branch Banking, Contact Centre and Lending Specialists.

Your work will ensure lending accounts and customer data are accurately maintained across ASB systems, supporting smooth customer experiences and strong operational outcomes.

Day to day, you’ll be involved in tasks such as:

  • Responding to internal staff enquiries relating to lending and loan maintenance processes.
  • Processing loan and account changes in host systems, including principal relief, loan holidays, interest frequency changes and other customer‑initiated variations where re‑documentation is not required.
  • Maintaining and updating interest rates across lending, savings, term investments and term deposit products.
  • Ensuring all processing and updates align with policy, operational risk and regulatory requirements.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
  • Managing enquiries professionally while demonstrating accuracy, sound judgement and a strong customer‑obsessed mindset.

We’re Looking For Someone Who Brings

  • Strong verbal communication skills and confidence supporting internal stakeholders over the phone.
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and processing discipline.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and remain calm under pressure.
  • Proven problem‑solving skills and good judgement when working through data or account issues.
  • Strong computer literacy and comfort navigating multiple systems.
  • Previous experience in banking, financial services, lending operations or customer service (highly advantageous).
  • A proactive, curious mindset with a commitment to operational excellence.
