Video Editor - AI, Aviation Film

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled film and TV editor with advanced AI expertise to contribute to a unique short film project centered on flying across New Zealand. The editor will collaborate closely with the production team during the planning and research phase, ensuring footage is crafted into a compelling story. The role is hybrid, requiring availability for both remote and on-site work in Auckland. This is a single project engagement with the possibility of future assignments.

Responsibilities

• Edit and assemble raw footage into a polished short film, focusing on aviation and New Zealand landscapes
• Integrate AI-driven editing techniques to optimize workflow and enhance visual storytelling
• Collaborate with the production team to understand project vision and narrative goals
• Ensure seamless transitions, pacing, and continuity throughout the film
• Manage and organize digital assets efficiently for easy access and revision
• Incorporate sound and visual effects as needed to elevate the final product
• Adhere to project timelines and deliver high-quality edits within agreed deadlines
• Participate in both remote and on-site sessions in Auckland as required

Skills And Requirements

• Proven experience in film and TV editing, with a strong portfolio showcasing narrative projects
• Advanced proficiency with industry-standard editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro)
• Demonstrated expertise in AI-powered editing tools and techniques
• Strong storytelling skills and attention to visual detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a hybrid work environment
• Based in Auckland or able to commute locally; applicants outside the area will not be considered
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
