The Strategy and Executive Services Division is a key enabler of the organisation, supporting the Secretary and Executive Leadership Team, shaping organisational strategy, and ensuring the Treasury operates as a coherent, well‑connected system. The Communications and Engagement team supports how Treasury connects with staff, stakeholders, and the public.

Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role

As a Communications Coordinator, you will support the smooth delivery of communications activities across the organisation. You’ll work closely with the Communications Team to coordinate content, manage channels, and keep information flowing.

In this role, you will

  • support the creation, editing, and publishing of content across internal platforms
  • help coordinate newsletters, stakeholder updates, and digital content
  • provide logistical support for communications activities, campaigns, and events
  • assist with media and social media monitoring and reporting
  • help manage websites, publications, databases, and distribution lists
  • provide administrative and coordination support to the communications team
  • contribute to continuous improvement of tools, processes, and ways of working.

You’re well‑organised, detail‑focused, and enjoy supporting others to do their best work. You’re comfortable juggling tasks, learning new systems, and working collaboratively.

You will bring

  • strong written communication skills and attention to detail
  • experience or interest in digital content, communications tools, and platforms
  • good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • a collaborative, proactive approach to work
  • an interest in public service and organisational communications
  • awareness of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and inclusive, culturally responsive communication
  • a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
