Mō te tūnga | About the role
We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised Risk and Assurance Coordinator to support our Risk and Internal Assurance team at Oranga Tamariki. In this role, you’ll provide essential administrative, operational and coordination support that helps strengthen our risk management, governance, and integrity practices across the organisation.
Working closely with the Director Risk and Internal Assurance, you’ll manage day‑to‑day operations including diary management, correspondence, financial administration, and coordination of team activities. You’ll also play a key role in supporting risk, assurance and fraud / integrity work delivery initiatives with the rest of the team, plus often act as a first point of contact for the business and helping ensure our systems and processes run smoothly.

Hybrid working arrangements currently three days in the Wellington office including Thursday, with the ability to come in additional days for business requirements.
Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring
We are looking for someone experienced in supporting a busy team by multi-tasking, working to tight deadlines and is comfortable in a role that requires an effective level of discretion, sensitivity, and interpersonal interaction.
You will be a tech savvy and used to using programmes such as Outlook, Word and Excel. A strong communicator that can tailor their approach for broad range of people and communicate important information clearly.
Some other key requirements of the role include:
- Strong ability in managing internal and external relationships
- Sound judgement, critical thinking and the ability to use approaches that are appropriate for the situation
- Ability to take a holistic approach to problem solving which relates to the ‘big picture’
- Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples’ culture
