About the role | Ko te mahi nei

The role of the Customer Experience Training Advisor within the Recreation, Sports and Events Unit has the responsibility for onboarding and upskilling of both new and existing staff with technical training, leadership development and the delivery of world-class service. It is a unique role that requires a combination of technical expertise with IT systems as well as a passion for world-class customer service. You will be responsible for delivering a programme of structured onboarding, upskilling, leadership development, and facility-based support for frontline staff and supervisors through inductions, workshops, shadow shift training, in-depth systems training, and drop-in support sessions.

Duties also include:

  • Actively maintain up to date knowledge of business systems, policies and procedures ensuring training programmes are aligned and accurate.
  • Ensuring customer service standards and the delivery of a branded customer experience that is actively engaging, inspires confidence and a can-do attitude is integrated into all training packages.
  • Ensure training courses are delivered using best practice adult learning principles (andragogical practices)
  • Analyse, design, develop, implement and evaluate training programmes to meet the needs of the business for kaimahi onboarding, leadership development, system changes and project implementations
  • Maintenance and development of Standard Operating Procedures for the Customer Experience Team
  • Being a role model for our shared values who provides direction, empowers, motivates and develops others in order to achieve business unit, group and organisational goals.

About you | Ko Koe Tēnei

We're looking for a Training Advisor with a passion for service excellence who is keen to hit the ground running; you will also have:

  • Significant experience in training design and delivery of adult learning.
  • Excellent literacy and computer skills with experience in systems-based training delivery.
  • You'll have an eye for detail and a passion for delivering world-class customer service and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Previous experience in dealing with people from a wide variety of cultures, nationalities, social diversity and demographics is desirable.
  • Previous leadership experience would be advantageous

  • Hours of work: Mon-Fri
  • Position: Full-time, permanent
  • Starting: We're looking for someone to ideally start as soon as possible
  • Location: This position will be based at one of our Recreation & Sports facilities (specific facility to be agreed).
  • Salary: The salary band for this position goes from $81,227 to $90,252 per annum based on a 40 hour week.
