Water Engineering Leader, Hamilton

An opportunity for a senior or principal water engineer to step into a key leadership role, leading a high-performing, engaged team of engineers, consultants and project delivery specialists from early career through to principal level. With a strong and diverse pipeline of work across multiple clients and water disciplines, we’re open to your technical background—as long as you bring a proven track record of technical and commercial excellence, and a genuine commitment to developing people.

This is a strategic leadership role at a pivotal time for the water sector, particularly in the Waikato with the establishment of two new Water CCOs. While you’ll provide direction and oversight, your technical expertise remains valued - continuing to grow your area of interest while contributing to project governance, bids and proposals, and building on the team’s already strong culture and engagement.

About You

• We’re interested in hearing from senior water or general civil engineers, with experience across any part of the three waters.
• Minimum of ten years of relevant professional experience with significant experience within a consultancy
• Ideally you have substantial experience in leading teams, however we are keen to hear from you if you are earlier in your leadership journey
• Chartered Professional Engineer, or working towards it
• Strong organisational skills to optimise and prioritise competing demands.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to effectively convey information to diverse audiences.
• A team player, authentic, trustworthy empathetic and relationship-driven
• Having a growth mindset, continuously seeking opportunities for personal and professional development of yourself and others
• Committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace
